Overview Kimley-Horn's Charlotte, North Carolina (NC) office is seeking an Experienced Electrical Engineer or Analyst with 2+ years of experience to join their Renewable Energy team. Responsibilities Design electrical systems including solar, battery storage, electric vehicle charging, and building electrical systems. Work on a variety of projects such as photometrics, lighting, power distribution, and EV charging. Participate actively in project teams and meetings with clients. Prepare project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and design documents. Coordinate and verify as-built drawings. Develop reports and design documents, including electrical plans, equipment selection, solar system sizing, and power analyses. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across disciplines. Perform quality work to promote client retention. Qualifications 2+ years of design experience in electrical engineering, specifically in building electrical, Solar PV, or electric vehicle charging. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced degrees are a plus). EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA standards, and energy codes. Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience is a plus. Experience with power analyses (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, device coordination) in SKM or ETAP. Experience in electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm design.
